I am a life-long resident of Amanda, Ohio and choose to continue to live here with my wife Heather, daughter Genevieve, and son John. I am an alum of Ohio Christian University where I majored in Business Management. Heather and I are graduates of Amanda-Clearcreek High School and I have the honor of serving my hometown school district as the President of the Amanda-Clearcreek Board of Education.
My family has been living in this community for over 200 years and if you don’t know me chances are you might know someone in my family. Our family has a long line of community service. My great-grandfather Herbert Ruff was on the Amanda School Board for years and founded Ruff’s Seed Farms, a full-line seed company in Amanda. Another great-grandfather of mine, Henry McCandlish was a long-serving Trustee of Rushcreek Township in the Bremen area. Lastly my grandfather Allan Reid was a Trustee of Amanda Township and a Fairfield County Commissioner in the 1990s. I have taken up the responsibility of community service and would like to serve my community like they did.
I work for my parent’s landscaping company West Fairfield Incorporated and am a Union Laborer in the Liuna 423. In addition, I work part-time for our family business Ruff’s Seed Farms. I enjoy working with many different people in my two jobs and would love to find a way to serve people in a greater capacity.
I want to be your State Representative because I feel that I have a lot to offer. A community-minded approach to service with my neighbors in mind. I hope to earn your vote and believe that it is important for us to be represented by one of our own. Thank You.
